Raised in Knoxville, TN since the age of 2, Tamara grew up and around the building industry with her grandfather being a licensed contractor, and her mother an employee of the Home Builders Association. She had several family friends in the real estate industry and always had a peaked interest in homes, landscapes and decorating. She graduated Karns High School in 1990 and went on to attend college at Pellissippi State Technical Community College where she obtained an Associate of Science Degree. With a love and passion for helping others, she entered into the Emergency Services where she served almost 15 years as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician, a Public Information Officer, and Emergency Medical Dispatcher. She served two local establishments during this phase, learning MUCH about Knoxville and the surrounding areas. With a strong respect for our military, Tamara was granted the opportunity to volunteer with the 278th Armored Calvary Regiment, a National Guard unit located in Tennessee. She assisted soldiers and their families throughout two deployments, and was ultimately bestowed an honorary membership with the National Guard unit for her service. She also founded and serves as President to “Friends of the 278th”, a non-profit organization set to provide ongoing support for the 278th military when needed. With a strong love and desire to assist the animal communities around her, Tamara has provided assistance in rescues, and contributed to Young Williams Animal Center, as well as The Little Ponderosa Zoo after a devastating fire claimed the lives of many animals there. She, with the help of her oldest daughter, spear headed fundraisers in efforts to provide funds to replace the building, as well as build awareness of the zoo and the benefits it provides to the community. Subsequently, she sponsored a monument that was erected on the premises of the zoo in memory of the perished animals. She is known among her friends for her professionalism, ability to get jobs done, and a true appreciation for family, as well as her passion for helping others.

In 2007, Tamara went through the Residential Appraisal courses through TREES and began her internship under a local appraiser. Shortly afterwards, the housing market crashed and the industry changed. Deciding it was not the right time to enter the real estate market, Tamara dedicated her focus to her family. In November 2014, she decided to obtain her Real Estate License. She began her career with Crye-Leike Realty in Knoxville in January 2015 where she was honored with Rookie of the Year award after closing out her first year as one of the highest producing agents in the East TN area. In 2016, Tamara moved to a smaller, boutique firm where she felt she could give more to her clients. She obtained the top producing agent with Knoxville Fine Homes Realty, both 2016 and 2017. In 2018, Tamara obtained her broker’s license and opened her own firm, Southern Legacy Realty, LLC. She was also put in place as a “back up” broker of a long-standing Knoxville firm due to impending health issues with their broker. She is poised and ready to double broker each firm, if needed. In 2019, she obtained a certification in home staging through the nationally known Staging Diva Training Program. In June of 2022, a life altering event moved her to Nashville, TN. She continues to build her business there, traveling between the two cities to serve her clients. Tamara continues to seek educational opportunities and enhance her skills to deliver to her clients the highest degree in exceptional service, as well as set her firm apart and above the rest.
